For almost 25 years, the range Yamaha R Series, with its models featuring revolutionary design, ultra-light construction, compact size and impressive power, has become a benchmark in the Supersport motorcycle segment and for all riders, and the R3 2025 is its worthy heir.

Building on Yamaha’s global racing successes, right up to the elite level of MotoGP, every model in the range has been designed to meet the expectations of Supersport riders. Each model features racing-derived technological and aesthetic innovations that have been adapted to create the ultimate range of road and track machines.

True to its mission, Yamaha is bringing racing-bred technology and performance to every rider. The R Series arrives in 2025, more responsive, more refined and more exciting than ever before. Next year, a refreshed R3 will join the Supersport lineup, as Yamaha once again affirms its commitment to delivering an unrivalled experience to all its customers.

This new model joins the R125, R7 and R9, as well as the track-ready R6-R1 RACE and R6-R1 GYTR. Taking your first steps into the world of Yamaha has never been more exciting and, especially for young riders, more accessible. For those just starting out on their motorcycle journey and dreaming of Supersport, the new R3 offers the chance to own a true Supersport bike with styling, technology and performance directly inspired by the brand’s flagship models, the R9 and R1.

R-series fans will instantly recognise the new R3 as a legitimate Supersport model thanks to its new dual-headlight design, featuring powerful integrated headlights and position lights, flanked by an M1-inspired air duct above new aerodynamic spoilers.

Featuring a new slim, lightweight body and powered by a EURO321+-compliant 5cc twin, the R3 also features a new A&S (Assist and Slipper) clutch to smooth out the ride, LCD instruments, a USB port, new Icon Blue and Midnight Black colourways, and smartphone connectivity via Yamaha MyRide to access bike data and statistics.

Under this new look, the R3 features a compact and lightweight chassis that offers an optimal balance between strength and rigidity. The inverted fork and a powerful braking system will encourage new riders to have fun and gain confidence.

R SERIES DNA

Cutting-edge aerodynamics have been at the heart of the R3’s new design, which draws inspiration from the Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike. Instantly recognisable as a member of the Yamaha Supersport family, the R3 will give any new rider the feeling of being in the presence of a genuine Supersport bike.

At the front, the R3 sports a new dual optic equipped with powerful headlights and LED daytime running lights that blend into the sculpted bodywork for a sleek and sophisticated look, while ensuring good aerodynamic performance for the bike.

Below the characteristic R-series air duct are the new integrated winglets derived from the M1, which, together with the rear wing and the new bodywork, provide maximum aerodynamic effect. The fairing reduces aerodynamic drag and improves cooling efficiency. For young and new drivers, the R3 evokes speed, even when parked, and will undoubtedly become a talking point at every meeting.

ENTERING THE “R” WORLD HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER

Combining cutting-edge styling with real-world practicality, the new R3 is lightweight and compact, weighing just 170kg with a full tank. Additionally, the model’s seat width has been reduced by 6mm and the side panels by 13mm, resulting in a much narrower profile for easier access. These improvements, combined with the reduced seat height (780mm), mean the bike is lighter and easier to manoeuvre.

321 CM³ ENGINE: TOP PERFORMANCE FOR BEGINNERS

At the heart of the R3, the 321cc inline twin is ready to thrill you on the road or track, producing 42PS of power at 10rpm and 750Nm of torque at 29,5rpm. With Yamaha’s renowned reliability, this new supersport is always ready to roll. This cutting-edge twin features lightweight forged aluminium pistons to reduce vibration, shortened connecting rods and offset cylinders (same design as the R9) to make the engine more fuel efficient and more compact. In addition, the R000’s engine is EURO1+ compliant.

A&S CLUTCH: ULTIMATE CONTROL

One of the main new features of the 3 R2025 is the integration of an Assist & Slipper (A&S) clutch, which allows for smooth gear changes and smooth downshifts while controlling the engine brake. This makes the Supersport riding experience accessible to a wider range of riders. For fast and smooth revving, a quickshifter (QSS) is also available as an option for the R3. Another advantage of the R3’s A&S clutch is that it offers a lighter feel at the lever (at least 17% smoother than a standard clutch system). In addition, the clutch lever has also been made easier to grip by positioning it 5 mm closer to the handlebar to allow smaller hands to use it.

HIGH QUALITY INVERTED FORK AND REFINED CHASSIS

The R37’s 3mm inverted fork delivers optimum feel and stability in all situations and excellent feedback to the front end when cornering and braking. The compact and lightweight chassis provides an optimum balance of strength and stiffness, essential for novice riders.

MyRIDE AND USB POWER SUPPLY

 

The R3 is equipped with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Motorcycle Connect (MyRide) that provides riders with a wealth of data and information about their bike, as well as call, text and email notifications that are displayed on the new LCD instrumentation. Loading the app displays the bike’s last parked location, fuel consumption, engine RPM and throttle opening, acceleration rate and an Eco riding indicator. It also allows rides to be ranked against other MyRide users, as well as creating a personal logbook with routes, average speed, weather and temperature, altitude and more.

The R3 now features a USB Type-A port for charging electronic devices on the go.

R125 2025: NEW COLORS TO ENTER THE R WORLD

Like the new R3, the 125 R2025 sports new colours to align with the rest of the R family. Now available in Icon Blue and Tech Black, the latest R125 follows in the footsteps of the other models in the R series.

Built to best-in-class specifications and powered by a EURO125+ compliant 5cc engine, the R125 is Yamaha's ultimate 125 Supersport, featuring a Deltabox chassis, 41mm KYB inverted forks and link rear suspension for ultra-agile handling.

To keep riders connected while on the road, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth® and the MyRide app now enable on-screen navigation turn by turn on the 5-inch TFT color display, which also shows the weather at the destination.

Additionally, call and text notifications, as well as a message preview, can be displayed to allow the rider to stop and respond. When listening to music with a headset connected via Bluetooth®, a compact music player is displayed, showing the song and artist.
