Bagnaia Dall'Igna

Pecco Bagnaia, third in the Thailand Grand Prix, was quite disappointed not to have fought for the win. He is certainly collecting big points, but the great competitor that he is is struggling to let such a disappointment go, especially since he has never been able to compete with Alex Marquez, and even less with his teammate Marc Marquez. In this age of over-mediatization, cameras are everywhere: they even film discussions that are supposed to remain private. An exchange between Gigi Dall'Igna, Pecco Bagnaia and Davide Tardozzi has just been revealed.

It happened on Sunday afternoon, after the Grand Prix. Bagnaia exchanged a few words with Dall'Igna as is customary, except that this time, everything was filmed – apparently without the knowledge of either man by Sky Sports, as we will see later. It all begins with Bagnaia, who told Tardozzi that he "cannot be satisfied with third place". Davide Tardozzi answers: « If you're on the podium, it means you've done good things. », logically. But Bagnaia, still under the influence of emotion – and this is quite normal for a champion of his caliber –, could not console himself so easily, if we are to believe the extract.

Then it gets very interesting. Gigi Dall'Igna, the architect of the Desmosedici for over ten years, intervenes. Bagnaia calls out to him, directing his attention to his GP25: "Now I want to understand what happened.". Dall'Igna was slightly surprised by this question, because Bagnaia's bike, during the race, showed no signs of weakness. In any case, no more than the day before during the Sprint. At that moment, Pecco Bagnaia discreetly showed the tires of his bike, which alerted Dall'Igna: “Tires? We’ll talk about that later.” he is said to have replied, before Bagnaia realized that they were being filmed.

While everyone agreed on the ambient heat, no comments directly targeting the tires were made after the race by Pecco himself. Following his race on Saturday, he was more likely to cite problems with the Sprint tank than tire problems, but didn't he want to do it discreetly there too? Is he having some difficulty adapting to the new tires, or is it just temporary? We know how sensitive drivers are to the slightest changes, and this new parameter with an eminently random character can have a decisive impact on performance.

In any case, this remains to be watched with great attention in Argentina. Do you think the tyres played a major role in Bagnaia's performance? Tell us in the comments!
