Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, wrote a post on LinkedIn about Marquez's test in Spain: " It was just before Christmas when I was on the phone with Marc to the usual good wishes and I learned that he had scheduled a test session at the Aspar circuit in Valencia for today. The plan was to do the session on a 2 Panigale V2024, as he had been told that our brand new 2025 model was not yet available in a racing version.
I was too curious to have his opinion on our new version, so I received a few calls to organize at least a few laps with the bike we used to film the official launch video and photos.
It was then a great surprise to receive a phone call from Marc at the end of the day in which he told me that not only did he love the bike's handling, super comfortable riding position and power delivery, but that he was able to lap in 1'12,2s, which I was told was the same time as the unofficial Supersport class record! Marc also used the 2 Panigale V2024 in race trim and the lap time was the same.
The 2 Panigale V2025 had a completely standard catalyzed exhaust, front lights, rear lights, a side stand… We can't wait to test the Panigale 2025 in racing version with him and Pecco, with 126 HP instead of 120 HP and almost 10 kg weight saving to eliminate all road accessories.
Very, very pleased with the track performance of a bike that was created to have the best compromise between track lap times and fun on open mountain roads! Thanks Marc and many compliments to the Ducati engineers who develop the bike! Welcome to the family, new Panigale V2! Once again, low weight always proves to be a winning choice!! ».
