Yesterday's race was pretty open in Germany, but unfortunately for him, Jack Miller didn't make the difference. While sixth place seemed certain, an injured Luca Marini snatched it from him in the final moments, and worse, Brad Binder took advantage to pass. The Australian, a bit like Fabio Quartararo, was not particularly happy with his performance afterward, even if eighth place at the finish was still more than decent.
Miller raced while following the indications of his dashboard, which does not allow the freedom necessary to make decisions, but is essential to manage the tires and other important parameters. “Everything went according to plan, knowing that we only had one day in the dry and then had to do a 30-lap race. I got a good start and gained places.I was catching up with Zarco, then the tire started to deteriorate noticeably.. I switched to Mapping 2, which was satisfactory. I was riding quite comfortably and trying to catch up to Fabio. Then, with eight laps to go, I received the warning to upgrade to Mapping 3" could we read in the columns of speedweek.

And of course, that didn't help him defend his position against Luca Marini on a mission. "It was probably due to a combination of mapping and tire degradation. I may have pushed too hard at the start of the race." he added.

In the end, the observation is quite bitter. « My race pace didn't drop completely, but I didn't have much tire left when I saw the checkered flag.. I stayed on my wheels, but finishing 25 seconds behind Marc really gets on my nerves » he concluded.
