Paolo Campinoti Barcelona

It's done! Jorge Martin is MotoGP world champion, and when he crossed the line at the Barcelona Grand Prix this Sunday, he didn't just make his own dream come true. Pramac Racing has just made history, becoming the first satellite team to win the title since the start of the MotoGP era in 2002. Paolo Campinoti, the team's boss, had every right to exult in Barcelona: the summit has been reached, the mission accomplished. Here he is, giving his first impressions.

Parolo Campinoti couldn't believe it. Martin was certainly the big favourite when he arrived in Montmelo, but still, there is a difference between imagining it and seeing it. “It’s even more sensational than last year. Bagnaia and Martin are two brave riders, I am happy that they were able to fight with respect. Today Jorge won against Pecco, who is a great rider. Seeing so much love for us in the paddock warmed my heart." he said to the microphones of GP One.

This victory is also the great defeat of the conspiracy theorists, who have never stopped repeating that Ducati would do everything to favor Pecco Bagnaia. « I have said it from the beginning: I have an excellent relationship with Ducati, it is a big company and they behaved like gentlemen. They reached this level thanks to their work, and also thanks to the sweat of the Pramac team. But if we are here today, it is thanks to them." he continued.

Since mid-season, and the announcement of Marc Marquez's starting role alongside Pecco Bagnaia next year, a higher mission animated the men of Pramac. According to Campinoti, it is even older than that. « When Bastianini was selected instead of Martin in the factory team, he was sad. He called me and said, “Don’t worry, boss, we’re going to make history.”"In the end, it was a wonderful four years," he concluded.
