Pecco Bagnaia had a close call in Argentina! On this first day at Termas de Rio Hondo, the three-time world champion almost joined the Q1 group due to a crash at the worst possible time during practice. Fortunately for him, he didn't slip beyond 10th place, the decisive position that guarantees him a place in Q2. The problem remains more or less the same: if he can be satisfied with this direct Q2, The Italian is still far behind his teammate Marc Marquez., first of two sessions today.

The Italian hasn't been in good form since the start of this season. While he limited the damage in Thailand – where he made it through to Q1 – Pecco almost missed out again during Practice. His philosophy of improving throughout the weekend may have reached its limits. He considers himself quite happy, despite initially feeling unsatisfied: “It went well, I managed to stay in the top 10. Unfortunately, this morning I still felt like I was in Thailand.I wasn't feeling good when braking or entering corners. During the afternoon we changed a lot of things, and it was better. It's a nice surprise to find this feeling when braking. » he confided to Sky Sports microphones after his first day.

Then, during Practice, a fairly rapid fall came to destroy all his hopes. « Unfortunately, I got "knocked out". It can happen. I did a good first quick lap, then on the second attempt, I fell, when I felt I could push more » he continued. It is important to note that Pecco Bagnaia has never won in Argentina; in fact, Ducati has only one victory here, including the Sprint – in 2023 with Marco Bezzecchi.

As is often the case, a fall does not make him abandon his optimism. “Tomorrow morning we will do more tests to try to better manage all of this. We solved the main problem, which was the feeling. We are going to take a step forward, particularly with a view to the Sprint." he concluded.
