Alex Rins didn't shine in Argentina, yet he leaves Termas de Rio Hondo as the best Yamaha rider. The Spaniard is quiet but manages to rise, once again, ahead of Fabio Quartararo, obviously not helped by Marco Bezzecchi's poor braking. Rins, who was thought to be in serious trouble following an injury-stricken 2024 season, has returned well since Thailand. He's performing surprisingly well—relatively speaking—hopefully, he doesn't have to make another visit to the infirmary.
Rins could not be satisfied with such a result at the end of the Grand Prix. “Today was difficult. I decided to ride with the soft rear tire. Yesterday, after the Sprint, all the data pointed to the medium rear tire for the race, but I tried it during the Warm Up and the feeling was not good; so I decided to go for the soft one. he confided. A risky bet, of course, but one that paid off for Franco Morbidelli.

Morbidelli didn't have any significant drops between the start and the end of the race, but Alex Rins had a lot of trouble getting his tires to the end. « It was actually quite difficult to manage the whole race with the soft tyre.. I had to be very delicate to manage the durability of the tire." he continued.

It must be said that the YZR-M1 has not progressed as much as its distant cousin, the Honda RC213V, which performed extremely well in the hands of Johann Zarco. « The front of the M1 is super nice, but there are other areas we need to work on. » he concluded. At least he sees some room for improvement, and that's a good sign.
