Still suffering from a shoulder injury following a bad wheelie during testing at Sepang, Fabio Di Giannantonio is suffering in silence in Argentina. Yet, despite the unbearable pain that is impossible to get used to, the Italian managed to climb to second place in Practice, just behind Marc Marquez. A remarkable performance that will be difficult to replicate in a race lasting over 40 minutes on Sunday, that's for sure. "Diggia" is slowly getting used to the only unofficial GP25 on the grid, the one that could well become a weapon later in the season.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, absolutely unmistakable in fluorescent yellow, is back at the forefront in Argentina. After a completely ruined weekend in Thailand – mainly due to his injury –, he beat Alex Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi in the Practice on the asphalt of Termas de Rio Hondo. “We worked so hard during Practice! We were getting better with every lap, and I had a really good last lap. I thought, ' Now relax, you have a great package. Try to find the flow, a good connection with the bike. " and it worked." he confided for MotoGP.com Friday night.

He had missed that indescribable feeling of control and speed, having been racing physically diminished since the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix: « I got my flow back, and it makes me so happy.I haven't felt this way since last year, in the last races, or maybe before, because I had a lot of trouble with my shoulder. But it worked. I'm very proud, and also happy for the team. But I'm like a dog who's been given a biscuit: I want more! » he added.

Adrenaline plays its part, of course, but pain is never far away. « This kind of result gives you courage. But it's certain that the shoulder is still not healed. When I ride, it bothers me, it's annoying. However, I came here with a different approach. I didn't want to focus on the result, but only on speed.. Yes, there is pain, but you have to go. This is my mentality right now." he concluded.
